- Explore additional tools and advanced search options in databases
Don't forget about the Support Materials for Teachers in the Research Project Calculator. Many of the documents can help students narrow search terms, like "Narrowing Topic Triangle" and "What's My Angle" worksheets.
The 21st Century Literacies worksheets can also help with keyword searching - Identifying Key Words, Synonyms, and Key Phrases and Creating an Effective Search Statement

Independent Learning Instructions

Visit the ELM databases that you use and look at the tools in the database. Are any useful to you? Blog about it.
Use some advanced search techniques in the ELM databases. Did they help narrow your search?
Checked your Google Reader account lately? Did you even sign up for one? Make sure to have a Google Reader account before our next meeting. Minitex staff members will be joining us showing us how to get RSS feeds from databases into our Reader accounts.
Added anything to your Delicious account in awhile? Make sure to have a Delicious account by our next meeting. Minitex staff members will be showing us how to bookmark items from databases in our Deliciou accounts.
Blog about a story you read from your Google Reader account or blog about the latest thing you stored in your Delicious account and why you stored it.
