MILI Wiki & MILI Ning

  • What is the difference between the MILI Wiki and MILI Ning?
  • What you can find on the MILI Wiki and expectations.
  • How to register for the MILI Ning to post blog posts and respond to forum discussions.

ASSIGNMENTS

1. Post one blog post in the MILI Ning on or after this first day of training. The post needs to be up by our second training day.

2. Explore the MILI Ning. Try changing your MyPage theme (hint: click on Settings and then My Page).

3. Add a real picture of yourself to your Ning profile (hint: click on Settings and Profile.)

4. For next time: bring an assignment with you (on paper or in your head) where students had to find information to complete it. Or work with your research group to come up with a research idea to bring with you.

NEED HELP WRITING A BLOG?

If you can't think of what to write about in your blog post, keep these things in mind:

  • Keep the blog post on the theme of the month. Think about the ideas, tools, or concepts introduced when writing your post.
  • What this month was interesting to you? How could you see using an idea, concept, or tool in your professional or personal life or in the classroom, or how have you already used it? Give examples.
  • What was new to you? Identify an idea, concept, or tool that was new to you and explore your thoughts about this new item and how it could add to or change something you already do.
  • Keep it positive. We know you may not love every idea, concept, or tool we tell you about, but tell us positively why you think it may not work for you. Give examples.
