If you did not attend the webinar live you must watch the archive and answer this question about it in a blog post. Title your blog post "March webinar question."

1. In the webinar LeAnn gives a lot of examples on how to use Educreations in education. Which examples might you incorporate into your classroom? Explain.

SCREENCASTING

7 Things You Should Know About Screencasting from Educause

Educreations app

Suggestions for screencasting in education

  • Capture the process: how to use an app, math problems, how to use a website, grammar/punctuation, etc.
  • Talk about an image, point at or circle things, etc.
  • Pull up the assignment on your screen and talk about it.
  • Give background on a lesson and assign it as homework they have to watch before the next lesson. Similar to the MILI webinars.
  • If you are out sick, make a screencast highlighting what the students should do that day and have the sub play it for them.
  • Make screencasts for parents to inform them of: websites you're using in class, their child's online work and how you assess it, how to use your teacher website, etc.

ASSIGNMENTS

1. Create a video in Educreations and post a link to it in a blog post. The video can be about anything, this is just for you to try it out.

2. Remember to post at least 2 blog posts a month.

NEED HELP WRITING A BLOG?

If you can't think of what to write about in your blog post, keep these things in mind:

  • Keep the blog post on the theme of the month. Think about the ideas, tools, or concepts introduced when writing your post.
  • What this month was interesting to you? How could you see using an idea, concept, or tool in your professional or personal life or in the classroom, or how have you already used it? Give examples.
  • What was new to you? Identify an idea, concept, or tool that was new to you and explore your thoughts about this new item and how it could add to or change something you already do.
  • Keep it positive. We know you may not love every idea, concept, or tool we tell you about, but tell us positively why you think it may not work for you. Give examples.
