PRESENTATION TOOLS

April Video

  • VIDEO: Presentation Tools
    • Watch this video before we meet and write a blog post about what you learned. Please put APRIL VIDEO somewhere in your post title.
    • If you watching the videos from school on an iPad, follow these directions:
      • Click on the link to open it in Safari. (If it opens in the YouTube app, close it. Instead, copy the link and paste it in Safari, because it needs to open in Safari.)
      • Select the button to override the block.
      • It will open up a new tab where you'll log in. Leave this tab open after you log in.
      • Then come back here and click on the link again. (You may have to completely close the YouTube app before you do this so it will work.)

REQUIRED and due in May: Create a presentation using one tool you learned about in MILI (Educreations, Animoto, Audioboo, etc.) that highlights what you learned in MILI. Here are examples from 08-09 participants, 09-10 participants, 10-11 participants, 11-12 participants, and 12-13 participants. (NOTE: Past participants may have been shown how to use different presentation tools. You will need to use a tool you learned about in MILI.)

  • More student Audioboo examples.

Educational uses of Animoto:

Other suggested presentation tools you can explore:

  • Haiku Deck - tell Haiku Deck the text you want on a slide, it searches for images for you
  • Prezi - the zooming presentation tool
  • Skitch - Draw images, add text and shapes to photos, etc.
  • ShowMe - another tool with an interactive whiteboard just like Educreations

ASSIGNMENTS FOR APRIL

1) Create a presentation showing what you learned in MILI and how you could see applying some of it in your classroom, with students, or for your own professional development. Use any of the presentation tools we've talked about to create this presentation. This is required and must be completed by our May meeting.

2) Remember to post at least 2 blog posts a month.

BLOG PROMPT

Blogs should be related to what you're learning in the MILI program. They should be a reflection or examination of topics or tools presented for the month. For instance:

1) Write a post about how you could use Audioboo or Animoto to add to a lesson plan.

2) Write a post about how students might be able to use Audioboo or Animoto for an assignment.
